Books…

Posted by Paul on 18th November 2007

Regular readers of the blog (there has to be at least a few) will probably notice that I haven’t updated my books in a while. This is for a variety of reasons. First, I misplaced a couple for a while. (Anyone who knows me well knows this isn’t unusual- I’m a slob, and when I’m getting really messy I’m lucky if I can find clean clothing.)

Second, the “Emotional Intelligence” and “Critical Mass” books are both excellent, but they’re pretty densely packed with information, theories and ideas. They’re not a casual read, at least not for me; I like to read them and really think about what they mean and are saying. Plus, I like to read a book like that in more unbroken, longer periods, and these days between work, school, and remodeling, I just don’t have the time!

Third, those same things. Work and school. I’m trying to do school right this time, which means (gasp) actually doing homework and not missing class and such! Egads! My girlfriend is off for a week of skiing in early December, and I’m not going with because I’d miss school. Man, that’s hard to type and harder to believe. But I’m getting a 3.7 in my math class (of course, I should be getting a 4.0, since it’s basically algebra that I took in high school.)

So apologies to anyone who wonders about that.

As for stuff around the house… it’s going pretty well. I’ve managed to finish about half of the Ikea stuff I bought. The painting is all done in 4 of the 5 rooms that needed it. The bathroom is back to normal, I (re-)installed the shower curtain rod and towel rods and most importantly, the toilet paper holder. (Snicker if you want, but think about it for a minute- is life normal without TP?)

All in all, I’ve been busier than sin, but I’m catching back up and will have some pictures soon!
