Phony!

Man, I hope Mitt Romney wins the Republican nomination. He’s just so fakey, it’s hard to believe he’s gotten as far as he has.
I have to think that somehow, either McCain or Huckabee will wind up winning the R’s nomination. It sounds nutty- McCain was about as far out of it as you can be for a previous front runner- but Giuliani is dead meat with his scandal past and Romney is going to self-destruct sooner or later in front of the cameras. He’s already getting a ton of negative publicity for being so flip-floppy.
Huckabee seems like a very nice guy. He’s also good for the evangelical righties, which is why I think he might win the nomination- they’re liable to flock to him and provide a voting bloc that the rest of the Republican party (meaning the few reasonable people left in the party, along with the business neocon crowd) can’t beat because they’re scattered amongst the other candidates.
McCain is sneaking up on people. I think they’re responding to him in New Hampshire (and even in Iowa a bit) because he’s the guy he’s always been.
To be honest, I hope that McCain doesn’t win, even though he’s about the only Republican I could ever see myself voting for. I even gave him money back in 2000, and I’ve been on his email list ever since.
The rest of them? Even Hillary, with her negatives, will clean the clock of any of the rest of them. Huckabee’s a loony compared to mainstream America. Romney’s a flip-flopping moron. Guiliani is crooked and corrupt and the Republican base won’t support him. No, the best candidate the Republicans can offer up would be McCain, and he’d be dead meat if the war in Iraq goes south again.
The best candidate the Democratic Party has is Edwards, but unfortunately I fear he’s not going to win the nomination. I think he might surprise people and win Iowa, and do well in New Hampshire, but after that it’s a money deal and he doesn’t have what Clinton and Obama have.
