Holy cow…

Posted by Paul on 4th June 2008

I just read a great post (on ABC.com of all places, which reminds me of something I’ve noticed- why is it that the MSM’s blogging is usually so much better than their traditional news reporting? You read the blogs of the political reporters, and they’re often really quite good, asking the questions the way they SHOULD be asked.)

The basic question: Do Hillary’s supporters believe in a woman’s right to get an abortion?

Because if so, they almost certainly have to vote for Barack Obama.

See, it’s pretty likely that there will be at least one vacancy on the Supreme Court in the next four years. And there’s a good chance it will be one of the justices who has voted to allow abortions.

So if Clinton’s supporters want John McCain to be appointing that justice, by all means, they should vote for him. If, on the other hand, they want a Democratic Party member appointing a justice, they are going to have to vote for Barack Obama.

Obama’s people are smart, so I bet you will hear about abortion and the Supreme Court during this campaign.

Republican’s chances…

Posted by Paul on 4th June 2008

Montana is typically labeled a “red” state, meaning the Republicans typically win the elections there. However, it does have a few Democrats that win office. Both of its Senators are Democrats, and given the Republicans’ nominee for Senate in this year’s race against long-term Senator Max Baucus, it looks like that’s going to continue.

This video is from 6 years ago, the last race against Baucus. I don’t know what happened to the blue guy (who, surprisingly, wasn’t a Democrat) but the second guy- the one with the awesome grandpa eyebrows- is this year’s Republican nominee. Seriously.

4 minute video, but it’s The Daily Show, so it’s pretty funny all the way through.

Passion…

Posted by Paul on 4th June 2008

Remember how I mentioned the passion that some people have for soccer in a post a few weeks back?

Surfing the web I found this little gem… now THIS guy is feeling some serious passion.

I don’t speak Italian but I think he’s happy about some goals.
