So I had planned on snagging myself a 3G iPhone on Friday the 11th. Well, didn’t happen; I didn’t have enough time to burn waiting in the monster line.

I had hoped that I could get down to the store earlier yesterday; it opened at 8am and I had a noon shift. But I didn’t wake up until 8ish, and when I called the store they said they had a line going around the parking lot. Forget it- it’s a big parking lot.

Instead, I made an appointment on Apple’s web site with a “personal shopper”. Hopefully they’re getting a ton of stock of the new phones and I’ll be able to get one on Tuesday the 15th instead.

G is going to use my old iPhone; she doesn’t mind it not having all the bells and whistles of the 3G because she’s not a gadget geek like me. It will help her out in her commute to/from work, as I found a pretty slick web site that can show you all the flights from a given city pair and she’s often going back and forth between Seattle and San Francisco, but sometimes needs to be able to see the other airlines’ flight schedules.
