Can’t make this up…

So John McCain has had a Very Bad couple of weeks.
He tried calling Obama out for not having visited Iraq. Obama goes on a world tour and visits Iraq and Afghanistan, and while he’s in Iraq, the Iraqi Prime Minister basically says “Obama’s plan to get the US troops out is correct and right, and it’s what we would prefer.” Ouch.
Meanwhile, the networks are all sending their primetime anchors to cover Obama’s world tour, so McCain is whining that Obama is getting all the coverage. Well, dumbass, you were the one who said he should make the visit, what are you whining about now?
But wait, it gets better. Obama gives a public speech in Berlin. The German police estimate the crowd is at least 200,000 people. TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND people turn out to hear a guy give a speech in ENGLISH in Germany. Incredible.
Meanwhile, McCain? He’s at a German themed restaurant. Seriously. I couldn’t make this shit up.
Among McCain’s quotes is this gem:
“And so we’re gonna be campaigning across the heartland of America and talking about the issues that are challenging America today.”
I wonder if he could somehow work “America” or “American” into his sentences three times instead of just two.
So first he says that Obama isn’t traveling enough, then when Obama travels, he’s digging at him for doing so. And Obama goes to Germany and draws a couple hundred thousand, while McCain draws a dozen at a German restaurant.
What amazes me is that at least 40% of the US population is still going to wind up voting for McCain. Are you putting me on? Seriously? What on EARTH are these people thinking? I’m not kidding- I know there’s at least a few readers here who’re going to vote for McCain no matter what. Can anyone give even a halfway decent rationale for that in the face of this kind of display?
Feel free- I won’t blast you personally. Make the comment anonymous so I won’t know who you are (or be embarrassed for you).
